WritingTool supports the use of AI. The prerequisite for this is access to an AI server. WritingTool is designed for use on local computers. The philosophy of free, open-source technology is also supported. Therefore, special attention is paid to supporting local AI installations such as LocalAI (https://localai.io/), even if in principle all OpenAI-like interfaces can be used.
WritingTool offers the following options:

Background checks for spelling, grammar, and style by AI, in addition to the check by LanguageTool

Manual revision of paragraphs by AI: The paragraphs can be replaced or supplemented at the push of a button.

Generation of texts by AI: The text can be inserted into the document at the touch of a button.

In Writer, work is carried out at the level of paragraphs, which can be overwritten or supplemented with text or images.
The functionalities can also be used in Impress. Generated texts or images are inserted as new objects.
